Safety Program Management

Written Safety Program Assessment

We will assess your current written safety and health programs in an effort to ensure compliance with current OSHA regulations.

Customized Written Health and Safety Program Creation

Safety Source, Inc. will write site-specific safety programs for your business that are compliant with OSHA regulations.  In addition, customized programs will include all the necessary checklists, training material, and guidelines for reviews that you need to follow to stay in compliance.

Recordkeeping Analysis

Keeping up with OSHA recordkeeping rules can be overwhelming even to the most seasoned professional.  Safety Source, Inc. will analyze your injury and illness records for accuracy and thoroughness.

MSDS Updating and Management

If you’re like most companies, keeping up with your Material Safety Data Sheets is probably not your main priority.  Safety Source, Inc. can take this task off your hands and complete periodic updating and organization of your MSDSs.

Job Hazard Analysis

OSHA requires that employers identify hazards in the workplace and take steps to abate these hazards.  The most common and useful tool used to comply with this requirement is the Job Hazard Analysis - JHA (aka: Job Safety Analysis – JSA).  Safety Source, Inc. will conduct the necessary JHAs at your worksite for you, or provide training so you can do this task in house.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Analysis

When PPE is used as a means of hazard abatement, the employer is required to conduct a PPE analysis to determine the correct PPE for each particular job. Safety Source, Inc. will conduct these assessments for you or provide training so you can do the task in house.

Safety Committee Structuring

A safety committee is a valuable management – labor relationship tool that can be very effective in the improvement of your overall safety program.  However, a mismanaged or improperly structured safety committee can result in significant damage to this precarious relationship.  Safety Source, Inc. has extensive experience in structuring and reviving wayward safety committees.

Incentive Program Design

If you need fresh ideas for an incentive program, Safety Source, Inc. is here to help.  In the past several years, OSHA has publicly disapproved of incentive programs based strictly on injury and illness rates for fear that these types of programs will inhibit injury reporting.  We can work with you to create an incentive program that will not only drive improvement in your safety program metrics, but, that will also increase employee involvement.

Safety Management Performance Metrics

Safety Source, Inc. can help you create solid performance metrics for your safety program that go far beyond the typical I&I rate and lost workday rate.  There are many more facets to your safety program that can be measured and improved upon.  Driving improvement is summed up best by the words of Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric; “what gets measured gets done.”  We will help you identify weak areas in your safety program, and then create a set of performance metrics that will drive improvement in these areas.

Employee Safety Handbooks

Safety Source, Inc. can condense the key points of your safety program, rules, and employee responsibilities into a user-friendly handbook for your employees.

Regulatory Compliance Audits

Safety Source, Inc. will conduct a regulatory compliance audit of your facility and provide you with a written report of necessary action items for hazard abatement.  Our reports are in a unique format that can serve as a tracking document your business can utilize as a means of documenting for corrective action completion.  This form can then be filed and used in the event of an OSHA inspection to demonstrate your diligence in identifying and promptly abating recognized hazards.

Machine Guarding Audits

Faulty, inadequate, and / or missing machine guards make up the number 1 OSHA citation for General Industry.  Safety Source, Inc. will conduct an audit of each of your machines to identify areas of possible non-compliance with OSHA regulations.

Job site inspection (hazard assessment and OSHA compliance audit)

Safety Source, Inc. has the resources to help you identify and plan corrective actions for hazards at your workplace.  With our method of identifying and tracking to completion recognized hazards you will be able to show “good faith” to an OSHA inspector should the need ever arise.
